1 Examine how attitudes towards linguistic standards empower and oppress language users. Explore how views on language standards can affect speakers positively and negatively.

When hearing the spoken word, “Accents” by Denice Forham, how her mother accents, although it comes through when she speaks English it still shows a reflection of pride of where she comes from.
2 Explore and analyze, in writing and reading, a variety of genres and rhetorical situations. Being able to write and read for different audiences of genres and rhetorical situations.  3 In my translation 1 with my poem I spoke about how my identity and language  is split in two but are one through the use of metaphors.
3 Develop strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising, and editing. perfecting your skills through practice of drafting, revising, collaborating, editing, and reading. 4 1-on-1s with professor Macagnone, the writing center, and peer reviews where I took in feedback to improve my writing for my synthesis translation, where I received feedback from my peers.
